Introduction
Our music distribution label is committed to maintaining a safe, fair, and transparent environment for all users. Fraud, including the unauthorized use of third-party content, undermines this goal, and we take a zero-tolerance approach to any fraudulent activities.
Definitions
- Fraud: Any intentional act of deception made for personal gain or to damage another individual. This includes unauthorized use of third-party content.
- End-Users: Individuals or entities who use our platform and services.
- DMS (Digital Management System): The technical framework and processes used to manage, monitor, and secure digital transactions and interactions on our platform.
Policy
We prohibit any fraudulent activity on our platform. This includes, but is not limited to, creating fake accounts, misrepresenting information, unauthorized use of third-party content, and manipulating platform algorithms for personal gain.
What DMS are doing about it
Our DMS is equipped with advanced monitoring and detection tools to identify and prevent fraudulent activities. This includes real-time analytics, anomaly detection, and machine learning algorithms designed to flag suspicious behavior, especially regarding unauthorized use of third-party content.
What we are doing about it
In addition to our DMS, we have a dedicated team of fraud prevention specialists who continually monitor user activity and investigate reports of fraud. We also provide educational resources to help users recognize and avoid fraudulent schemes.
How we deal with suspected Fraud
When suspected fraud is detected, we conduct a thorough investigation. This may involve temporarily suspending the user’s account while we review the case. Users found engaging in fraudulent activities, especially those involving unauthorized third-party content, will face appropriate actions as outlined in our policy.
The consequences of Fraudulent use of our Platform or Services
Fraudulent use of our platform can result in severe consequences, including but not limited to:
- Permanent account suspension
- Legal action
- Forfeiture of any earnings or benefits obtained through fraudulent activities
- Removal of unauthorized third-party content
Severity, Strike Policy and Account Blocking
Severity
Fraudulent activities are categorized based on their severity, from minor infractions to severe breaches. The severity of the offense will determine the specific actions taken.
Strike Policy
We implement a strike policy to manage repeated offenses:
- First Strike: Warning and temporary suspension
- Second Strike: Longer suspension and mandatory fraud prevention training
- Third Strike: Permanent account suspension
Blocked Account policy
Accounts found to be engaging in severe fraudulent activities will be immediately blocked. Blocked accounts cannot access any platform features or services.
Withholding Royalties (“Escrow”) for blocked accounts
In cases where an account is blocked due to suspected fraud, any pending royalties or payments will be withheld and placed in escrow until the investigation is concluded. If fraud is confirmed, these funds may be forfeited.
Takedowns
Content associated with fraudulent activities, including unauthorized use of third-party content, will be taken down immediately. This includes but is not limited to:
- Fraudulently generated content
- Misrepresented user information
- Any other content violating our anti-fraud policy
By adhering to this policy, we aim to protect the integrity of our platform and provide a secure environment for all our users.
